Our Educational Programs
The educational programs at Tiffany's Learning Center were created with our children’s needs in mind: to mature and develop in a safe yet stimulating environment. Our birth-five academic programs utilize the STREAMin3 curriculum, an engaging hands-on curriculum created by the University of Virginia. STREAMin3 identifies and focuses on promoting children’s development of 5 Core Skills that form the building blocks for later learning and 6 STREAM Skills that prepare children for academic success in kindergarten and beyond. The curriculum also integrates developmentally appropriate practice with an emphasis on individualization. All STREAMin3 activities, materials, and resources place an emphasis on teacher-student relationships and interactions to create a learning environment that is fun, hands-on, and supportive of learning across many domains of readiness. Based on the latest research in early child development and education, this curriculum helps teachers tap into how young children learn best. Take a look at the image below to learn more about the skills we focus on at our center.
STREAMin3 uses a comprehensive set of assessment that includes:
An initial assessment for every child
Intentional and ongoing formative assessments: These are quick check-ins that teachers use on a regular basis. Teachers use the knowledge gained from these assessments to identify where children are in the development of their skills and make a plan to support each child in mastering those skills.
Parents will receive reports as well as weekly quarterly reports on their child's progress with the option to meet for a conference with the child's teacher.
Four year old students who are preparing to enter into kindergarten will also complete formal assessments across key early learning areas that predict kindergarten readiness. These assessments include the Early Mathematics Assessment System (EMAS), Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening System (PALS), and the Child Behavior Rating Scale (CBRS).
Tiffany’s Learning Center also participates in VQB5, a quality measurement and improvement system created by the Virginia Department of Education, that ensures a quality education is being provided by our center.
